Kalinchowk Tour, a combination of both spiritual and natural experience, takes you on a trip to Kalinchowk Bhagawati Temple which is a Hindu shrine located at the height of 3,842m from sea level in Kalinchowk Rural Municipality in Dolkha District of Nepal. Not just for Hindu people, the place has a big significance for shamans and Bonpos also. Just 150 km away from Kathmandu, this amazing place offers a kaleidoscopic beauty of Kuri village and Gaurishankar Himalayan range along with the other snow-capped mountains.
It is a part of Gaurishankar Conservation Area from where two rivers Sun Koshi and Tama Koshi are originated. It is a famous temple of Goddess Kali with panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Rolwaling Range, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, Ganesh Himal etc. Most of the people visit this place in winter season and it is the best nearby place from Kathmandu to enjoy snowfall. Normally travelers visit Kalinchowk for its pilgrimage significance. But in recent years, it has grown as a popular destination for domestic travelers who seek to enjoy a quick and refreshing escape from the city.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Kuri village, campfire at hotel and overnight at Kuri village
Day 2: Hike or Cable car ride to Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple, back to Kuri Village and drive back to Kathmandu
We will depart from Kathmandu early in the morning and ride for about 6/7 hours via Bhaktapur, Banepa, Dolalghat, Mude, Kharidhunga and Charikot to reach Kuri village. After reaching Kuri village, we will stay at hotel. The next day, we set out for Kalinchowk Bhagawati temple. You can either hike for one and half hour or ride on a cable car for about 5 minutes to reach the temple. After exploring the temple and enjoying the view, we return back to Kuri. After exploring the village followed by lunch, we return back to Kathmandu.
